License for a single mud

I'm new to reading the forums, so I don't know if this idea has come up before. I conducted a poll of what mud clients the players of the mud I work on use, and only about 20% of them use a newer version of Zmud. With so many free alternatives out there, very few of them want to buy a license, even when I describe to them the possibilities I could make using MXP. This is one of the main reasons I have not done any MXP coding yet, in that a relatively small percentage of our players would even see it. So, a solution comes to mind.

What if a single mud could buy a license, so that the newest shareware Zmud would log on to muds with that license? Or, even pay a monthly fee for the priviledge. To use non licensed muds, of course, the 30 day trial would apply. After the trial expires, you would simply have the option of logging on to one of the licensed muds, or closing. IMHO, a monthly fee would be ideal, since a mud could give all its players a trial to see the potential with Zmud.
