What are Simutronics games? |
Hope this question isn't too stupid, but what are Simutronics games? I have heard that a future version of zMud will support them.

Simutronic is a company that has made various subscription-based online RPGs. Many people play these games, but they are based on a propietary engine that is made for their client. This client also provides support for various codes sent by the MUD to control coloring, sending information, and other stuff.
Some have tried to use zMUD instead of Simutronic's client, and have been succesful in doing so. However, they have found that it's somewhat complicated to emulate the parsing of the special codes sent by the MUD.
Recently Zugg made a deal with Simutronic to include support for their games in zMUD. This will enable zMUD users to easily connect to a Simutronic game and with no loss of functionality.

That sounds awsome! I play Dragonrealms (a simu game) and have been for the past 3 years. I love ZMUD and I have been using it to play DR. Now that it might be possible to do it easily and have all the funtionality. That is some of the greatest news I heard. I have been using the trial of ZMUD but now it seems time to buy it! GREAT PRODUCT!
