Beckon/rbeep in RoD

This is a painfully minor problem, but its bugging me to not know the explaination. For whatever reason, i don't hear beckons or rbeeps in Realms of Dispair. I hear all other sounds (not RoD related) such as mp3's, and i hear a sound when i use the #beep command.

I just made a trigger to use #beep whenever im beckoned or rbeeped, but i'd really just like to know the why's and wherefores.

Yes, i am config +beckon. Im using v6.26, win 98

Thanks!
