Automapper not making new rooms.

I am having an awful time getting the auto mapper to work in 6.62.

When I use the autoconfigure function, it picks everything out just fine, makes the room with the proper name, description, and exits. When I move around to map more of the mud, queue shows the direction I am moving, but it does not make any rooms no matter how I move. I get the same results if I paste it using offline configuration

I have it working perfectly in 5.48. All I do is run autoconfigure, and start moving. It picks up everything. I tried importing the settings, and it does not work in 6.62.

I have the prompt and exit line tagged and it seems to be working properly. I colored them to make sure the triggers were firing properly.

I don't remember seeing anywhere if the "You walk south." line does anything. It can be walk, run, sprint, crawl, or fly.

Below, I have pasted two movements. The second includes a closed door.

Any ideas?

TIA

Code:

<HP:100><MANA:100><MOVE: 97><COINS: 4 platinum, 4 gold, 9 silver, 2 copper>
<ROOM: The Temple Complex of Nerina>
s
You walk south.

The Pagoda
You stand within the pagoda of the Temple Complex of Nerina.  This is
a small, but towering building in exactly the center of the complex filled
with icons of the religion of Truth.  It is built on a raised platform and
is accessible from all sides by a terraced slope.  You can look in any
direction and see a section of wall, or a gate, or a group of trees and they
all look perfect.  The courtyard was obviously painstakingly and perfectly
designed to be viewed from right here.
Obvious exits: n e s w nw ne sw se
The duelist's guild board stands here.
Rikus is here riding on a spirit steed.

<HP:100><MANA:100><MOVE: 97><COINS: 4 platinum, 4 gold, 9 silver, 2 copper>
<ROOM: The Pagoda>

Code:

<HP:100><MANA:100><MOVE: 96><COINS: 4 platinum, 4 gold, 9 silver, 2 copper>
<ROOM: Western Salween Path>
s
You walk south.

At the West Gate of Nerina
You find yourself just inside the western gate of the city of Nerina.
You see a small road leading off towards the north around what looks like a
large building.  To the south, a slightly more major road leads to the
boardwalk along the shore of Tiel Lake.  The main road of the city, Taishi
Road, runs straight east of here right through the center of town.
It's mostly clear, very, very hot, and there is absolutely no wind.
Obvious exits: n e s w(closed)
A guard of Nerina guards the city gates from bandits and criminals.

Do you have it set (in File menu, I think) to Map Creation Mode?

Aye. I've checked that about a thousand times.

Any other ideas?

You probolem mostly appears to be the prompt. The mapper's AI is designed to look at the ratio of numbers to text to try guessing what a prompt is. I would suggest you use a trigger to #TAG your prompt for the mapper. Reading the forums, and the help topics in Configuring the Automapper will tell you how.

I already have my exit line and prompt tagged.

I colored it to ensure the trigger was working, and it works perfectly.

I can change the prompt to be anything I like, however.

Any other ideas?

Did you reconfigure the automapper after creating those triggers?

That I have. I reconfigure after every little change I make.

The only annoying part, really, is that it works perfectly in 5.48 with no tweaks.

The queue seems to function properly as it knows when I move in a direction and clears when the prompt/exit line shows up, but it does not move me in a direction nor does it make a room. Ideas? I'm still working on this. If it's the prompt, I can change it if needed.

TIA

redmop, perhaps you have triggers that send #NOMAP on any kind of patterns?
Also, this trigger may be a solution:
#TRIGGER {^You {walk|run|sprint|crawl|fly} (*).} {#MAP %1}

When you configure the mapper to start making the maps. When you are done mapping switch the config off and walk around following your map

Hi,
This is what I have done to mine, and I have suceeded in mappimg out Achaea.
On the mapper go to config settings tab, select configuration,go to Room Name and the box up top before Room Name should be checked.Check it if not....and then check the box that reads Match Room at the end of line...then go to Room Description. Same again check the box at the top if it is not.(Room Description)...Then the Multi line....Go to Room Exits...The top should be checked (Room Exit)...then the multiline exits and exit in prompt....Then go to Mud Prompt...2 boxes check Auto prompt and Complex Prompt...thats it leave everything else as they are (irrelevant)...Now start mapping your rooms do a dozen then double check exits and room tittle..they are the important fixures...Some exits are wrong and some are missing just delete or add links....and copy and paste room title or refresh......if or when you can't move from room to room you might have a double exit or an improper room title... now when your satisfied with the mapping go back to the config setting and uncheck those boxes that you did except for the room name and room desciption leave the top ones checked...and leave the ones in the Mud Prompt...Uncheck both in the room exits..and away you go....always remember not to move in edit mode or try to re-edit without setting the configs again ....
Thats how I have done mine and It's a pearlar.
Force is on you side
