zmud mapper

Is there a way to export a zone out of the db into another db? I run a mud and frequently have zones in my db and I need to pass those specific zones onto other Imms for various reasons, without giving them the whole mud ;). The old system was great where each zone was a seperate .map file. Yes i know i can take screen shot and jpeg it, but that doesn't really do the trick i need. Any help would be appreciated.

Running 6.53

I'm not a mapper buff, but i've heard that the new mapper is in ADO database format, which means you can open it with MS Access?

Yeah, you can open it in Access. zMapper can do the export as well.

I really dislike having to buy another product to do what was given for free in earlier versions. I'm not saying that Zugg doesn't deserve it, but I've been noticing a lot more of the things you could do with the mapper in older versions have now been taken out and put in a diffrent program. Its a sad trend all over the place though lately.

Umm, you couldn't export to other databases in older versions of zMUD either. I haven't taken anything out of zMUD and have actually tried *very* hard to ensure that the new mapper works as well as the old mapper and retains as much functionality as possible.

Geez, you give people free upgrades for life and continue adding tons of new features to each version, and even then people still complain. *sigh*

Well, opening in Access doesn't do much, least for me. I work a little in access but nothing major. If someone knows how to extract the zone specific info from one db to another db you can contact me at shawnyve@wotmania.com.

Going to try the zmapper and see if its useful enough for my limited purposes.

Not talking about exporting the maps to another database. I'm talking about being able to move zones to other computers, give them to other people, ect. You could do that with the old mapper by by moving the .map file and importing it. Now with everything in one file, you can no longer do that.
But it seems with zmapper, you can do that now by exporting zones, giving them to someone else, and they can import them into their maps if they also have zmapper. This was not needed before when you could use the .map files like stated above. So it is a feature that was moved from one program to another. Could be solved by just allowing the export zone and import zone to be used with the new database format the mapper uses.

I'm not saying I hate the new features in zmud and that they arn't worth paying for. If I didn't like them and such, I never would have paid for zmud and would have kept using the cracked version I had. I'll more then likely buy zmapper also, if only to be able to export maps.
