license

I have a license for zMud (that I payed for years and years ago) but now when I try to put it in, I get an error message that says "Unable to get or install license/Retrieval of license failed with error code = 17/All renewable licenses are currently active- no license is available at this time." What can I do?

Upon further thought on the subject, I realized that I installed zMud on my other computer when my current one broke, and then uninstalled zMud on the other computer after I fixed this one. I tried to go back into my other computer and unliscence it, but it just says "Cannot unlicense"

zMUD currently provides 3 licenses per customer, with each license being on a 90-day renewal cycle. That means, if the license that's been in use the longest is at 89 days, you'll have a license available tomorrow. On the other hand, if you just used all three licenses today, you'd have a three-month wait.

So, what you can do is just keep trying every day until a license becomes available. Even in the worst case, it won't take more than three months.

Next time, unlicense first. You did have the other computer connected to the internet when you tried to unlicense, didn't you?

The other computer is currently connected to the internet. I can go into my Control Panel and look at the zMud e-license and even right click and TRY to unlicense, but it just tells me cannot unlicense, so I dont know what to do.

Advising someone to unlicense first isn't always possible. I know. It happened to me. Had zMud installed on the system as usual, then while experimenting with some Linux stuff in another partition, the Windows partitions were accidentally destroyed. Ooops. Needless to say this took my current license with it and now I can't get any of them back. eLicense has chosen to ignore me on the subject and I'm still waiting for a reply back from Zuggsoft on what to do about this. I too paid my registration years ago, back before this lousy eLicense crap became the norm. I've also had several friends of mine be caught without their licenses for varying reasons, also with no apparent responses from eLicense or Zuggsoft on the matter.

E-mail has been known to get lost in the past, so it is not impossible to happen. Also, humans are imperfect, it is also possible to look over some things and not notice them. Last, Zuggsoft installed some spam filters so make sure you send your e-mail in plain text and with no attachment (unless necessary, in which case they should be zipped.)

Having said all that, my suggestion is to try contacting e-License again. They have been known to free lost license for people in the past. If this fails once more, try sending an e-mail to support@zuggsoft.com again.

This suggestion should apply for both, Latent and Samson.

Which means, you've lost TWO licenses... everyone gets three. I've been through three computer crashes/reinstalls or rebuilds, and never lost all three licenses at the same time. The e-license seems to work very well.

Ok, I realize the fact that I have lost 2 licenses (thanks to a defective powersupply that destroyed my harddrive repeatedly). So my problem is this, I have my third license currently being used on a different computer in my house, but it will not let me unlicense it. It's right there, says it is an active license with 72 days left. When I select unlicense, it just refuses and says cannot unlicense, I just want to know why I cant unlicense it

If you go to the Downloads you will find a FREE version of Zmud. It is an unsupported version, but it would be a temporary solution to getting you connected again.

Latent, as I said, e-mail e-License about this. Their address is: support@elicense.com

They are the ones who created the software. They are the ones that know the software the best. They are the ones that can help you the best.
