A few Inquiries...(map related) |
Well, Ive got a few things I was wondering about, so I'm just going to put them all into this one post, rather than spam the topics...
First, the time has come for me to uncorrupt my .MAP file. Now the problem here is that my map consists of about 200 zones, 80% of which have multiple links to other zones. Has anyone conceived of a script or simple way to reconnect all these zones after I import the settings? Or better yey, has anyone found a way to keep them thru importing?
Second, I play on a ROM style mud, and there are many random exit/mirror mazes on the mud(Sands of Sorrow anyone?).Has anyone thought of creating a script to overcome these with the mapper?If so, I would be greatly interested in hearing it, if only to snatch a few ideas on how to make my own...info on how to make the map que to a certain room by means of a trigger would be particularly usefull here.
Third is there a way to make the automapper choose a starting location for each zone? I generally use a Path to get to the zone i want, then open the map if i need it, it would be nice if when i chose a zone from the list, it would start me from where the path left off.

I should also mention, the for whatever reason, the FIND command does not work on my map. I hope that it is mearly due to corruption, but I have a feeling that its my map configuration. It does the look command, and then seems to be searching for the room, but then it doesnt cue....any ideas?

Since you first noticed the problem after installing a BETA version, and you are continuing to use BETA versions, you should bring this up on the BETA forum.

Well, after some playing around I figured out this part, and in the process, think I have figured a decent way to amp around the mirror mazes.Ill be working on that, and if I come up with soemthing good I'll post on the Finished Scripts forum.
Still looking for info on how to keep my zones connected after migration, or a script to easily connect them afterwards... :)
P.S. Does anyone know the ETA of the Mapper plugin module? wiill it be compatable with the current map files? |
