[3.32] CMUDPro general Automapper questions |
I would like to automap www.3k.org. Perhaps someone has done this, already. If so, just give me a pointer to the information, and I will work through it. In my initial experimentation, room information is not automatically recognized, and manual configuration doesn't seem to do it, either. Here is an example of the output.
| Code: |
N
\ | /
North of Center (n,s,w,e) W ---*--- E
/ | \
S
The cobbles give way to a weird, twisting tile that makes
your stomach churn uneasily. This must be North lane.
You stand at an intersection where the cobbles of Main
Street, which stretches to the south, meet the stomach-
wrenching oddity of an undulating tile-covered path that
goes left to right. Just to the north there is a small,
unimpressive brick building with a massive iron door.
There are four obvious exits: north, south, west, east
Johney the little boy (Pinnacle).
A tall street light.

It seems pretty straightforward to find the room name and directions. They are on the same line as "---*---", which should be unique. The room description is after the next blank line to the blank line after that (or until "obvious exit").
In reading through past posts, it looks like #TAG is the way to go, along with judicious use of #TRIGGER and #COND. I also came across references to the classes "Automapper" and "AutomapperAll". Other places mentioned "System|Automapper" and "System|AutomapperAll". Some of the information was about zMud and other information was about older versions of CMUD.
This is where I need some blanks filled in. What, if anything, applies to CMUDPro 3.32? I would like my routines to be active when I am mapping and to be inactive when following. That implies they would go in the Automapper class. Is there a default class of "Automapper"? Is it a system class, or if I create an "Automapper" class in the package for the mud, will that be the class that automapper uses? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks. |

If you did a search on the forums, it will search all of the forums, including the Zmud forums. That is why you are seeing that old information. Only the more recent stuff posted in this forum or the Cmud Beta forum will have accurate information for Cmud 3.xx.
For this specific question, there is not a "class" of Automapper. There is a special mapper module, which should have been created in your session package when you opened the mapper. You don't actually have to worry about it, but if you wish all your mapper scripts together in one place, this does serve as the best place to put it, because the mapper will automatically put certain other stuff in there. |
