[3.06]When speedwalking (fast walk) & looking around map,mud window steals focus |
When speedwalking to somewhere (fast walk) and looking around the map, moving it sideways and zooming in and out, the main window keeps stealing focus from the map in a weird way so that you can scroll the map still with the middle button held down but when you scroll up or down it scrolls the main text window instead of zooming in and out of the map - it's very frustrating, you can't navigate at all when it is receiving text from the MUD
edit: SORRY this is 3.06, not 3.07, I should have checked properly first sorry, I just assumed I had the latest version because it was a fresh install - I think it's likely I'll have the same problems since it doesn't say fixed in the version history, if it does fix it I'll post back here in an hour or so if not it's still broken ( :( ) |

Sounds like you have some triggers that are running that are causing this. It doesn't happen at all to me when I'm just receiving text from the MUD. You might try turning off all of your triggers and then enable them one by one till you find the one causing this problem.

I'm using a fresh install of CMud fresh profile too, no triggers at all (apart from the auto-generated login one) :(

Try it on a different MUD. Maybe Discworld is sending some thing that is causing it. As I said, I don't see it happening here on any of the MUDs I have accounts on. Can anyone else reproduce this issue?

I just tried on another mud and it doesn't do it there
maybe it's possibly related to it receiving two windows of text from Discworld at once (the Map one which is done with MXP or something else clever to make the text go in the window without needing any triggers)? though, when I get the bug it always scrolls the main window not the "map" text window hmm :/
I just tried with discworld again while speedwalking and it still definitely does it there |

If Discworld is sending text to another window via MXP, then it returns the focus to the main window after it's done. So that's why it's happening. It's a side effect of the MXP commands that set the current window to send text to.

This is very frustrating, it also does this when you have ANY other CMUD window open while receiving texti n the alternate window (the Map window seen in this screenshot at the top left) which is sent every time you move rooms - it means it's totally impossible to do things like edit settings, use package editor and so on, it just keeps flicking the window back while you are using it, even setting to always stay on top doesn't help, it actually moves the whole focus away so you are interrupted in the middle of whatever
It would be really really really great if this could be fixed, it is so frustrating, it would be really nice to be able to check the map while speedwalking to look at what area to go to next etc! :) |

I believe that Zugg already suggested that this is due to commands being issued by Discworld. If that is the case, there is nothing Zugg can do about it, because Discworld itself is sending the commands to refocus.

no it is not, you need to re-read - it's because CMUD is currently programmed to focus windows whenever it receives new MXP text rather than just putting the text in it... it's not actually sending a "refocus window" command, lol
