Auto populate option in an "Option List"

I want to be able to autopopulate the options in an option list based off of another database. For example I have a database that is set up to document items (name, level, effects, types, locations, etc) and I have another database set up to track NPC characters (locations, interactions, names, etc).

I want to have an option list for location that will be populated by the NPC Name entries in the NPC database so that I don't have to enter the NPC names multiple times into multiple databases. I would like this to update in a live manner so that when I add an NPC to the database that it will automatically be added to the option lists where used.

I am new to scripting and haven't been able to find a way to do this. Any ideas or pointers to get me started?

Thanks,
burgoin

The option list in zMud's database is limited to 31 distinct options. I don't quite think it will fill your needs, and you will likely have to reconsider your planned data usage and storage.
