cmud constantly creating duplicate settings file for one mud [edit] |
Every time I connect to Achaea, cmud creates a new settings file for it. So right now when I click "Settings" at the top of the screen, I have three things saying Achaea. CMUD has been giving me lots of problems, and even throughout the four or five reinstalls that I've had to do for other problems, it has always done this. Any ideas?
Thanks
[edit]
Also, when it creates the new settings file, it doesn't transfer any of my scripts that I installed in the previous session. It has them saved under another Achaea file, but as it creates a brand new one every time, I can't access the old ones. |

Are you running Windows Vista? Do you have write permissions to your CMUD games folder? Edit one of the sessions, and under the package files tab check to see what directory CMUD is trying to store your session in?
What version of CMUD are you running? When was your last clean install? |

Windows vista, CMUD 2.36. I did a clean install a couple days ago, and the day before that and the day before that and so on for about 5 days. Also, CMUD *refuses* to load my Achaea settings unless I first connect to Aardwolf, and then the only way it'll do it is if I click "Settings", click on my Achaea settings folder, then click "Window is visible", then "Save". Why won't it load them if I just tell it to connect to Achaea like it does for Aardwolf?
And yes I have permission to write to my CMUD games folder. I am the admin account on my computer.
Thanks. |

Click the Edit Session action for your Achaea session and go to the Package Files tab. What is listed in the primary package filename for your session? What is listed in the list of other packages to load? That shows the list of packages that get loaded for your session. It sounds like maybe your primary session file is also listed in the list of "other packages" to load, which would cause this duplication.
