CMUD Map Question - Achaea

Hello all, I have just purchased the CMUD Client, and thought that I had read somewhere, that the maps for Achaea was already on the CMUD?

1) Question is, is there? And what do I do to import them into the maps sections. I am totally new to CMUD so that might be the problem.

2) If not already on there, do I have to walk the whole land of Achaea to map it? If so I have a lot of walking to do.

Thanks for all the help you can give..

1. No
2. Yes, unless you find someone willing to have a copy.

I guess I should clarify. IRE maps are not 'built-in' in CMUD. What CMUD has is the ability to read special data that IRE muds send out, which allows CMUD to see the current room name and exits, which makes for almost perfect mapping (not including special exits and the occasional screwiness). The only thing you don't get in this method are room descriptions, but if those are important to you there are other ways to capture those.

It's likely that the person that told you this meant that someone's published a CMUD map of Achaea somewhere. You should ask them (or other people playing Achaea) about it. Beyond that, yes, the mapper will only map what it's seen.

If you want a good starting point then have a look at larkin's pages http://larkin.dischai.googlepages.com/achaea It might be slightly out of date, but its better than walking it all yourself Smile

Thanks for the three quick answers guys.

Above you said to go to Larkins Site and I did. Do I need the Acropolis Automapping or the Acropolis Maps?

Thanks again for the reply.

nope, in your mapper you go to File|Open and then find that mdb file you just downloaded. You'll still either need to also download Larkin's config file, or make it yourself. As Larkin made Acropolis before the ATCP changes, I don't know if his is updated.
