Automapper - Speedwalking destination path |
I know the automapper tries to take the shortest route to the destination when speedwalking which is usually fine. However, there are some instances where this causes problems for me.
On the MUD I play in, at the end of one of the side areas after you fight the main boss, there is an exit back to the main temple (one way only) which I have mapped in and works. If I am nearer to that exit than I am to the main temple location itself, it will try to find its way through that area complete with aggressive monsters, locked doors, and the like.
Is there a way I can get the speedwalker to completely ignore those particular exits and just aim for the actual temple location itself?
Thanks for any help (learning something new everyday). |

You can increase the cost of entering rooms on that room's properties page. zMUD works out which route has the lowest cost and takes that - just play around with the cost values until you get something right. There's also a "do not enter" flag which sets the room's cost to the highest. Finally, there's a one-way flag for exits that'll make the mapper not try going the wrong way if that's your problem.

Excellent! The Do Not Enter is no good because sometimes I'll still be speedwalking past that particular room with the exit but having the Dn Not Enter off and just having a really high value works like a charm. And here I was trying to make it work specifically with the exit itself. The capabilities of this program just keep on impressing me.
