Not allowed to change room scripts on my map |
I tried to change a room script for a room on my map but was not allowed. The save button was not enabled so I tried changing another setting too and then saved. Result was that nothing happened at all - my changes was discarded.
It's a map I originally created with zMud and took with me when porting to CMUD. Not sure if this makes a difference...
Is this a known bug? Anyone has a solution? |

1)is the mapper docked? Almost nothing works in the mapper if it's docked, like trying to play a video game with the game controller unplugged.
2)I know this may be a dumb question, but are you in explore/map mode? You can't edit anything in the map if you are not in this mode. If you are in this mode, you similarly can't make changes if the mapper is locked.
3)assuming you made it here, it's probably a bug. The mapper is a literal code transfer from ZMud, and as a result it may have had several minor issues when trying to couple with CMud's code interface. Zugg didn't really try to fix anything, and the really big problems I believe he simply walled off so they didn't cause access violations and other nastiness. |

1) I've tried both now. Not that I can figure out what difference it should make.
2) Map mode
3) I think it's a bug too... I worked for so long on this map so I would quite unhappy if I was told to start from scratch. |

This is actually a known bug and is on the bug list (not that you would have any way to know that :)
Not only does the save button not work in the current version, but even if you got your script to save, there seem to be problems with room and zone scripts executing correctly. They don't create their settings in the right class, so you can end up with new settings created over and over and filling up your settings file. The settings (like variables) created in a room script don't get removed when you exit the room.
I'm hoping to fix these issues soon, but no time scale yet. |
