zMUD v3.62 |
I know this isn't technically supported anymore, but I wanted to ask just to see if anyone could help me a bit..
Any time I try to run the free version of zMUD - under Windows XP - I get an error that says "Cannot find file C:zmud16fZmud.exe (or one of its components). Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all requied libraries are available".
..Except that I'm running it straight from the exe out of the directory I unzip it to, so one would assume that the path would be correct. I've been getting this for some months now and nothing I do seems to get around it. Would appreciate any suggestions anyone could give me. |

Well, the free zMUD available on this website is what is known as a 16-bit application (newer versions are 32-bit). Windows XP has very limited support for 16-bit applications and, as a result, zMUD 3.62 16-bit doesn't work with it at all.
This has been discussed before here. There's a link in that topic to the 32-bit version of zMUD 3.62 which is still free and _will_ work with XP.

Aha.. I was unaware that there was a 32 bit version. Thank you very much.
