mapper not working! |
[Dining Room]
The remains of a table in the middle of the floor indicate that this was once
the dining area. You can see the kitchen off to the east and an open room off
to the west from which you can hear the sounds of
somebody or something moving about.
There are three obvious exits, north, east and west.
>
I'm using Zmud 6.37a on Tsunami Mud
the room output is as seen above
When configuring the mapper offline with the text above it detects the room description properly but it does not detect the room name.
the prompt (">") is detected as the room exits (??!!)
when I remove the prompt it detects the room name and room description properly but it does not detect any exits.
please help! |

I made a tag for name and tag for prompt and they are working well
I substituted the line "There are three obvious exits, north, east and west." into "Exits: north east west" which I have seen work with the mapper on another MUD.
when configuring it did not detect the exit line so I tagged it as well.
Then it detected the whole line "Exits: north east west" as the exit line.
still didn't work
Then I changed "Exits:" into "south" so the line read "south north east west" and tagged it as exit line
and it STILL didn't work
Is it even possible to get this (bad language)
to work.
Everything is detected properly
the name and description of the room is stored
but not the exits!
If there even is a solution PLEASE help! |

Get rid of the exits #TAG trigger, since you're probably aren't going to need it.
Then, open up Configuration Settings from within the Automapper (it should look like the Preferences window). Under the Room Exits setting should be something about exit keyword and exits after keyword. You may need to check both of those, and then in the textbox type in "obvious exits, ". Close that window (save if you have the option) and do a Reconfigure option.
If that doesn't work, post your exits trigger so we can see if you're doing something wrong with #TAG.

I've tried changing the settings under Room exits. Doesn't matter what I've choosen/typed there it seems to ignore that setting completely. It never detects the exits without the exit tag.
My tag when I substituted the exit line to this: "Exits: north east west" =
#TRIGGER {Exits: (*)} {#TAG exit %1}
and when i'm using the default prompt
"There are three obvious exits, north, east and west."
it looks like this:
#TRIGGER {There are %w obvious exits, (*).} {#TAG exit %1} |

Found the problem
It was due to a bug in version 6.37a
Installed version 6.16 and it worked almost perfectly
(just needed to tag the room name)
Perhaps this post should be in the beta forum but I'm too lazy to fill in a form :P |

You don't need to fill in any forms. All you need to do is click the red FORUMS button in the menubar to open up the All Forums page. There is a link there to the Beta Forums application, which is a pop-up kind of window that gives you an agreement spiel and an OK button to click. That is all you need to do to get access, unless something went wrong with your cookie when you clicked OK (that would require you to delete and try again, or email one of the site monitors).
