Connecting |
Only partly a zMUD related question, but does anyone know a good way for me to get around a firewall from my work, so I can connect to a MUD? zMUD won't connect through it, Telnet freezes when I try, and the computer won't support a Java client. I would much prefer a zMUD-capable solution, if possible, even if I have to use an older version to avoid the eLicense/firewall problem. Any ideas?

firewalls at work are there for a reason :)
suck up to the network guy in charge of the firewall, show him zmud, show him what zmud does etc. quite often network gurus know exactly what a mud is so that part of the task is already done. if you can show zmud is "safe", they will create a firewall rule for you to access the mud, hopefully you already know the mud you want and specifying one ip/port will increase your chances rather than having to let you access whatever/wherever :)
Why oh WHY did I have pass door on... |
