predefined variable explaination pls

I just need better understanding of the use of pre-defined variables.

examle

%lastcom

I set a trigger

Pattern = You don't have a knife

Command = Get knife from sack
%lastcom

Hoping to get this result. In mud I attack with my knife

Stab Deer

But since I forgot to get my knife out I get the response..

You don't have a knife

I want the trigger I made to fire to get my knife from my sack then repeat the comman Stab deer.

This is a bogus example, but if explained in this fashion would help me understand the entire concept of the predefinded variables.

Thanks

Dazed glazed and having fun

%lastcom contains the last command executed. However, in your example, right before using %lastcom, you send to the MUD "Get knife from sack" and this will now be the last command. So you need to use %lastcom2 which will now contain the "stab deer" command.

Another thing, you probably should do

#exec {%lastcom2}
instead of
%lastcom2
