New to CMUD want to have music! |
Hey everyone! I started mudding a couple years ago and have been having so much fun with it. I just bought CMUD from my friends recommendations and saw that I can trigger music files which makes mudding 3x as fun now! The only problem is that the mud I play on does not use MXP or MSP (w/e it's called - doesn't send sound packets to the client) so I wanted to create a trigger so that when I enter a new area a certain music file plays. The problem is that each room displays the area, so every room after entering the area would in effect keep triggering the music over and over again (There is nothing else to really trigger off of). I could resolve this issue if I can somehow create a trigger that basically doesn't allow any more of the same music file to play until the current music file is finished - THAT would solve my problem almost completely. The other issue though, is if I enter a new area - then I want the music to stop and play the new music. Under triggers, I found an advanced option that said "duration" but I couldn't get it to work at all. Anyways, if anyone has any ideas for me at all I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Create a variable, that will remember the area you are in, call it for example currentArea.
The triiger will have the pattern like:
| Code: |
| ^You are in area (*). |
and value
| Code: |
#if (%1 != @currentArea) {
currentArea = %1
//stop previous and play new music
} |
