Slow walk oddity

I used "#WALK (location)" from the command line to have the mapper calculate and execute a slow walk path to where I need to go. On the way, a creature engaged me, so I didn't move north from that room. I manually retreated from combat so I could move again.

Then I tapped "8" on my keypad, and nothing happened.

I tapped "8" again, and I moved north and the slow walk continued to the destination.

And it moved me one room north of my destination.

So, it seems that when I manually tried to move north to continue the path, it appended the command to the path. Is that weird, or am I missing something?

I know this kind of situation. I hate it when somehow mapper blocks sending your moves from keypad. Just my question: Do you use some large values of step delay to make this a "slow walk"?

A slow walk is when you use the mapper to run to a given room in slow mode - there's a button for it on the mapper toolbar, and you can choose it under Actions -> Speedwalk Mode too. You could also run any given path in slow mode with the #SLOW command.

Yes, I had this similar problem in zMUD as well, now that I think about it.

@roz: as I said initially, I'm using the #WALK command to have the mapper do the work for me. Using this command will be Fast, Safe, or Slow, depending on how the map is currently set - I keep mine in Slow mode so that it verifies each room before sending the next direction because my MUD won't allow more than a couple commands at a once, and also my walking is sometimes interrupted by being engaged by critters or other phenomena.

The weird part is that the original keypress did nothing. All that other stuff about ending up one-off from your destination, that's not weird at all though it does mean there's an unhandled situation in your mapper configuration that needs scripting.
