[3.18 Alpha]BUG: Installation deletes database variables |
Following your post about making the backup and the dangers of the new beta, I made a backup. However, I will say that it is annoying to have all my database variables no longer exist upon installation. ;)
With further testing, it seems that CMUD no longer likes database variables, as installing a backup package file complete wipes the database variables, as well. I'm just glad I was smart enough to use a different backup for testing.

Please send me your *.PKG file with the database variables that were deleted. The database variables in my saved sessions were not deleted so I need to see yours to figure out what is happening.

Well, the one I used to verify is in the Package Library from MattLofton (AardSkies). I can definitely send you that package over. I do want to show this to you, and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with database (and also string list variables, as I recently found out) being deleted:

If you still need the package (or can't get it from the package library) I can still send you mine.

Actually, if you just run the previous 3.17 version and then post the XML of one of the database variables that was deleted, that should be good enough. It's very possible the crash you gave above is related.

Hopefully fixed in v3.18a, although not sure about the crash so let me know if that still happens. Remember to restore your backup files from the 3.17 version so that you are not working with files corrupted by the first 3.18 version. Sorry for all the trouble, but thanks for testing it tonight while I still had some time to fix it. Can't sleep because of all my coughing anyway.
