[316B] Permissions problem

CMUD is attempting to store the .zfg file into program files (x86). An application must be elevated to do this (if one is running Vista or Windows 7 with UAC on). I assume this is a bug since the information should be (and normally was) stored in the session folder. This might also explain some problems with the mapper since now the configuration can't be saved.

NOTE: As an aside, there seems to be a problem with forum posting, for the last 2 days I've had to click Submit several times before the operation was carried out, clicking on the button acts as if one clicked Preview.

Umm, no it's not. CMUD saves the .zfg file to the same directory that contains the original map database file. All of my .zfg files are in their proper locations within My Documents\My Games\CMUD\MudName folders. So either the path of your Map Database object is set wrong, or when you installed CMUD you didn't select the %documents% option for your session data files.

Also, if you are getting the Preview when you submit a post, that means the cookies in your browser are screwed up and your session isn't getting maintained. Try logging out of the site, then clear your browser cache, then exit your browser and restart it, then log back into the site.

My map database has been in the same location since it was created. The .zfg file is also in the same folder as the database. This problem is not persistent. However it has occurred twice. I also use a explicit path for ma data. I would never be able to run cmud otherwise since in run with UAC at max level. I tried sending you the dump both times but the send failed.

Hi,

I've just had the exact same problem - when opening a new mapdatabase (in an existing session - ie. swapping maps), CMUD tries to store my zfg-file in \program files\CMUDPro\sessionname.zfg (the correct patch is \documents\my games\CMUD\*) - which it fails to do so - opening the old map and restarting CMUD fixes it. But I cannot make it work with the new map, nor do I know where to change the incorrect path.

When you try to open a new map database, how exactly are you trying to do it? Are you just using the File/Open menu in the mapper and then selecting a map file? If so, please tell me the exact path and filename you are trying to open and also tell me the exact path and filename of your primary character package file so I can try to reproduce this.

As usual, I need an exact procedure to reproduce this from a blank session in order to find the problem and fix it.

Hi,

I just realized I had 3 config-lines in my main ini-file:

Code:
[Config]
c:\program files\cmudpro\3kingdoms\3kingdomscmud.zfg=
3kingdomscmud.zfg=
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\CMUD\3Kingdoms\3kingdomscmud.zfg=

That cant be good?
