[3.08] Mapping troubles

Started to play IRE Lusternia somewhat again, having had problems with mapping.

Regardless if I make #tag triggers with Telnet 200 or by ansi, when I re-configure the map, it
shows as if everything is alright (Mapper configuration finished, blue represents room name, another color exits etc), though
I was able to clearly see, that it hasn't recognized any lines correctly.

Anyway I pressed OK, but nothing happened, no room was visibly created. At first when I tried #tag triggers
with Telnet 200 option and Room.Brief/Room.Exits I thought I was stupid and didn't make them correctly.
But then I tried with usual ANSI pattern triggers and same thing with those as well.

The weird thing is that the above ANSI pattern triggers for mapping worked flawlessly in the past with CMUD, though I'm not sure
how well actively under 3.xx, because I haven't MUDed in a great while.

Can't choose the box character to make one room manually either and go from there.

EDIT: Just tested with Public Version 2.37.
1) Made ANSI Tag triggers for Room name, Exits, Desc
2) Ran Re-configure on Map config
3) Entered a correct direction for the test, waited 5 secs
4) Even though colors config gives doesn't match, the correct room is made after I press OK
5) No room is visually seen after above steps under 3.08

EDIT #2:
Well, it's the weirdest thing. Basically I can map. I choose 'mapping on', move one room.
Then check 1) #loc - works, shows room #2, 2) #show %roomvnum - shows correct vnum, 2, 3) #show %roomname -
shows correct room name. But I can't see any visual boxes when I look at the map screen. It's all empty as if
nothing's mapped at all.

Did you start with a room marked on the map, with your location in it? There is a known bug that it won't automatically create the first room for you.

So you're saying that when you re-configure the map, it doesn't make the initial room automatically? Then no, I imagined it would and
didn't make the first room manually.

To be honest, I really don't know how to explain it all. About day after the post above, I ventured out to make the initial room manually,
then fixed the location marker and added Description/Room name data manually by copy-paste. After all that I started to map and it worked as it should (read: everything was visually shown).

At one point along the road I made few mistakes on my map and deleted all I had mapped thus far. Just in case I ran re-configure
the second time and now it even did the configuration correctly (see in my initial post above where I mention that while doing map
config, it didn't show correct colours for Room/Desc/Exits on the test screen given).

However, even though correctly showing the configuration, it didn't make the initial room automatically, so I had to make one
manually and go from there.

Long story short: If there really is a bug with being unable to create the initial room on the map then it's all alright from where I'm standing. I was just puzzled by it all.

Thanks.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. There is a bug in that the initial configuration will not create the first room, if you don't already have a room marked on the map with your location. If you create a room manually and start it, it works fine. This bug has been reported before and presumably will be fixed.
