[all versions] Odd stuff with word-wrap and timestamps. |
I think I posted about this, but it's probably gotten lost.
1) Make sure timestamps are disabled.
2) Options > Session > Wordwrap, check word wrap, uncheck auto wrap, set wrap column to 80.
3) Enter the following string (note that it's 80 characters long):
01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789
4) Options > Session > Scrollback > Show Timestamps (for greatest effect just shove some long string into the timestamp).
5) Enter the same 80 character string again.
Note that the wrapping changes depending on the timestamp size, rather than the actual column of (real) text. |

Confirmed. It looks like the timestamp string is being calculated as part of the wrap length. It's not i what I would have expected initially but i can imagine why it was done that way.
If fix my wrap size based on available window real-estate then setting timestamps eats into that screen real estate so I could see wanting the wrap to compensate for that. Otherwise I end up with text that's offscreen which defeats the purpose of the word wrap.
I'll leave it to Zugg to say whether this is a bug or a feature. |
