[3.03] Center on selected or current room |
I don't know if this has been reported but in the new mapper it doesn't center automatically on the current room. Also the menu CTRL-Q or CTRL-W doesn't work either.

this (the auto center) is something I had a problem with after a length time playing. Once I completely quit and restarted CMUD it worked for me again. I'd be sure that the "Center automatically" checkbox is still selected too.

On the bottom left corner of the map, check whether it is actually tracking any location objects.

Yes it is tracking the location object I can move around the map and see it track but the map just doesn't auto center on the room.

Dumas suggested checking whether the autocenter was turned on, but you haven't said whether you checked that. It will be under Edit|Map properties|Speedwalking.

If you have more than one choice in the lower left for tracking location, try switching. Sometimes the non-obvious choice is the correct one.

As mentioned by Dumas in his post here: http://forums.zuggsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=145164#145164
You need to do a View/Locations from the main MUD window and delete any extra location objects that you might have. You also need to do a Zone/Refresh in the mapper to refresh the zone boundaries. And then go into the Map properties and make sure the Auto Center option is still enabled. All of these settings could have gotten messed up by the previous 3.03 beta version. I cannot reproduce any problem in fresh maps created or converted in 3.04, so you can also try reconverting your zMUD map to the 3.04 version. |
