[3.0x] Compatibility Issues with zMapper |
More of a comment than anything else really. Not sure if you took this into account yet Zugg, but with the change of the DB format of the CMUD mapper, it's not possible to use zMapper to define new room types etc for CMUD 3.0x maps.
Now technically speaking you can edit the original .mdb and re-import it, but that's unpalatable especially once you start updating the new version. |

Yes I know. I think I mentioned this in the past that you'd need to wait until I rewrote zMapper into "CMapper" before you could do these kind of edits again. Much of the features like custom room types will probably be added to CMUD itself before CMapper is released. The rewrite of CMapper needs to wait until after the graphics engine is rewritten in Phase 3 because the entire concept of "Custom Shapes" is being changed from using Windows WMF shape format to using a more standard SVG vector format.
So yes, anyone who is extensively using zMapper right now is going to have a very rough ride for the next few months. But since that's just a very small handful of people, it's something you'll have to live with for now. |
