If you play around with the tooltip you can make part of some rooms disappear:

Come on Shalimar, you have been around long enough to know better. Don't just say "play around with the tooltip". You need to tell us exactly what you set the tooltip to and exactly how you caused this to happen. Otherwise there is no way for me to even try and reproduce this.

I didn't set the tooltip to anything.
I zoomed in close on my map so that the rooms appear big.
Then I point the mouse at it. (By default it shows 'roomname %cr roomnum').
I very slowly moved the mouse around.
Occasionally in the wake of the tooltip, bits of the image are just not there.
I'm sorry I don't have a better explanation of how it happened. |

Further 'playing around' with this prooves that it only seems to work on rooms that are not square.

Rooms that are not square must have been modified by zmapper. Zugg hasn't gotten to the code for modifying room shapes yet.

No, I added the zMapper ability to change the room size in the 3.03 beta version. So you don't need zMapper anymore to have non-square rooms. Looks like this is a long-time bug that has been in zMUD since zMapper first added the ability for non-square rooms, and nobody ever reported it before.
In any case, this should be fixed during the graphical enhancement phase of the mapper rewrite. The entire graphics engine used by the mapper is being changed then. So the bug fix will have to wait until then. |
