Something is wierd... |
So, zMud on my computer seems to work good, but then i itried it on another computer and realized something was wrong. Auto-open doesnt work for me (im playing Wheel of Time), and i cannot enter a script in successfully (i get the error message "Arghbargle etc" . So i was wondering, why is it only on my computer that this stuff doesnt work? It is the latest version.

a) Auto-open? What do you mean?
b) Seeing the error message and the script would help.
c) Make sure you downloaded zMUD rather than CMUD, if that was your intention. |

It is zmud, 7.21
a) auto opens doors, so when you go through them and its a generic "door", it tries to open it for you
b) there is no error message, it is just the message you get whenever you type in a command that the mud doesnt recognize |

a)this I believe is dependant on having a working map configuration, but for good measure did you check the Strings and Doors section of Mapper Configuration Preferences? It might just be turned off. Also, I seem to recall it ever only working in Follow mode.
b)this is probably because the setting you created (ie, the arghbargle alias) either was not committed to permanent memory (ie, you didn't shift focus) or was created in a class that is turned off |

agrl barle is not an alias it is what comes up whenyou say mistype something, it goes for example
* R HP:Healthy MV:Fresh > asdf
Arglebargle, glop-glyf!?!
but when i put in a long script, it goes and says argle like 5-10 times one after anther
And the thing with the opening doors, its just an automated thing it should be working, its like this computer isnt fast enough or something.... but it should be. |

Check your gun/computer icons in the lower right? If the computer is Xed out, that could cause the gibberish to be sent to the mud instead of into your settings file. Keep in mind that if you are misspelling accepted zscript commands and functions then ZMud will still just send them to the game.

If you click on them, crosses appear over them. Neither should have the cross; click them again to get rid of them.

Well, that did indeed help, the computer had an x, but so now a script will load, but it will not function :( I can see it on macros and it is "enabled", but it is just not doing anything. Any further ideas?

Macro = keys have to be pressed. If you do this and nothing happens, one of three things is probably the case:
1)the macro is not supposed to do anything visible
FIX: none, or you need to rewrite the script
2)the macro is contained in a class (a yellow folder icon) that is in the DISABLED state. This is evidenced by the name of the class being colored grey instead of the normal black.
FIX: enable the class and all parent classes that are similarly disabled.
3)there's an error in your script
FIX: find and fix the error |
