It'd be REALLY nice if you wrote something in the help parser that rewrote the links to point to local cmud reference docs instead of any link in the help viewer launching my browser. I understand the fact that this provides us with the latest helpfiles at all times, but personally i'd prefer to download the latest, and then navigate around them with ease.

I agree, but that'd require that there be some way for a link to change what's displayed in the help viewer, and I don't think that's currently possible. It might be a bigger task than you think. At the moment, the HTML from the KB is just displayed in the viewer as-is. But yes, it'd be nice.
