Cmud Pro [2.14a] Mapper window sometimes missing |
I don't know how to force this to happen but it has been happening for the past few versions.
I have sent several crash dumps on it however.
I have my layout saved with several windows open. One of the windows that is open in my setup is my mapper window.
Occasionally when I open Cmud the mapper window is not open. If I click on the Window item in the menu bar the mapper simply is not there!
If I click on the Map button on the toolbar the program throws an error. The only way to get the map window back is to completely close the program and open the session again and check the window menu again.
If however the map window does show up in the window menu then the mapper opens just fine. |

Sounds like it is sometimes saving a layout with the mapper window messed up. It probably depends upon exactly how you have the mapper docked to the rest of the session. Are all of the other windows "capture" windows, or are you using multiplaying with multiple windows that have a network connection? The mapper might get confused with multiple session windows since it only supports a single session right now. But without a procedure to reproduce this, there isn't much I can do and it's likely to be something fixed by the mapper rewrite next year anyway.

The mapper window is undocked and on a separate monitor.
The other windows.
Three capture windows with no network connection, or triggers for that matter. I may have a little more info on this after work... |

I just sent a bug report that contains these same steps. It turned out to be pretty easy to pin down after I was away from the computer for a while.
1. Open any session window from the premade blank sessions offline.
2. Open the mapper window.
a. It does not matter if the mapper is docked or not.
3. Close the session.
4. Open the session offline again.
5. Click the Window option in the menu bar.
a. Note that the Mapper is NOT an option.
6. Click on the Map icon in the toolbar. |

Confirmed. The trick seems to be using "Close Session" instead of exiting CMUD. Seems that Close Session is doing something bad to the window docking system that causes this problem. Anyway, it's added to the bug list.
