What anonymizer software works with zmud? |
Anyone have any reccomendations as to what anonymizer software is best to use in conjunction with zmud for hiding who you when playing mud games? Also, any reccomendations for anonymizers for using if just telnetting as well?
Thanks for your input on this. |

Since zMUD uses standard telnet, that means that any anonymiser that works through any port (rather than giving you a restricted set) will work. How to set them up will no doubt be explained in their documentation.

Sounds like someone is trying to get around a ban on a MUD. Heh.

Actually, a mud with a high percentage of players who are immortals, and when you log in it shows all of them your ip address, which means you can't have a an alternate character, that you can play seperately, since half of the players online see the ip address and know its you regardless.
The reason I asked on specific anonymizer software recommendations was that from what I have read online, most anonymizers do not work for telnet traffic, only for http type traffic. So, a regular one won't do anything to block your ip address from showing up through telnet. |

Try using a search engine to find one.

Take a look at this thread, too. An anonymiser that only works for HTTP is a pretty pointless one, IMO.
