[2.07] Not a bug? Limited history support in the untitled session |
I don't know whether this is a feature or a bug.
1) Open CMUD, hit ESC to close session dialog.
2) Type some commands in the command line, for ex.
#SAY Hi!
#SHOW Hello!
#ECHO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3) Press UP arrow key - nothing will happen.
4) Press Ctrl+H - history is empty
5) Click on down arrow of the history drop-down list in the status line - you will see all entered commands saved properly. |

To expand on this there are a few oddities, some I think are features. With Arde's example at step 3 you have to press the down arrow to go through the history list from the top to the bottom. I think this is a new feature in that down will properly go through the list. The bug being that the index should be at the bottom whenever a command is entered.
I am not sure about his item 4, I brought up the history window and the comands were there. I used different commands though.
For item 5, make one small change, enter the first command a few times. Then when you click the little triangle next to the pencil you will see the first command listed in there few times. Selecting any but the lowest of that command results in a blank command line. |

I still can't see anything if I'd press DOWN arrow key at step 3 instead of up arrow. You may see top entry from history because you have something in it , but I have empty history window, so no effect from keys for me.
And I confirm your step 5. |

Wow, something is definitely broken here. These were all working recently, so something must have happened in one of the recent bug fixes to break the command history stuff. Added to high priority bug list.

OK, found the problem. It is *very* nasty. One of my optimizations to looking up default preferences is completely screwed up. This can cause CMUD to not see the correct preference values. This might also be the cause of some preferences becoming "magically" selected, like the issue with the trigger debug message setting. It's possible that I'll do an early release of 2.08 this week because this is such a serious problem.
