[1.29] Cosmetic changes |
I think that the following files should be placed according to the path chosen by the user at installation: user dictionary files.
I think since you are trying to get towards a system where CMUD is installed for use by many people on a system then the shortcuts probably want to go into All Users rather than the user that installs CMUD. The installer will be able to do this from a security/permissions stand point as the install needs to be run as admin for the copy protection to work anyway. |

Shortcuts should definitely not be put into All Users without asking though! E.g. As some people may not want other users seeing what they have installed.

Yes, there are several files, like the user dictionary, #log files, etc, that need to be changed to go into the DataDir path selected at install time. That's on my list to do.
I'm not sure about the shortcuts though. Like Seb, I don't really like stuff that goes into All Users. And even though there is nothing I can do to stop it CMUD is technically supposed to be licensed to the *user*, not the computer. In other words, it isn't really meant to be used by more than one user (and certainly not by lots of users on a public machine). |

Ah poop silly me I guess I'm getting confused over the licensing, probably something in my head hanging around from zMUD being licensed to the computer at one time in it's past.
