Possible midweek release?

With the public release getting so close. and a couple of showstopping bugs arrising like the "enable everything bug" (http://forums.zuggsoft.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=25552 ) think that we could get a midweek release?

I know its a lot to ask, its just stopping me testing my system actullay logged onto a mud.

I think a midweek release might be a good idea, but the "enable everything bug" could probably be worked around by importing your *.MUD file in 1.15, immediately closing 1.15, copying the pkg file over to 1.16 (and making a backup) and using it there (editing your session perhaps as appropriate to load the pkg file). Of course, this assume that, like me, you have still got 1.15 installed. Otherwise you will need to reinstall it (assuming you kept the installer). It's important to note that I am not suggesting taking a pkg file that you edited (as opposed to just converted and then didn't touch) in 1.15 to 1.16 as there were some bugs that could corrupt pkg files when editing them in 1.15, I think.

A midweek release is possible, but I'll have to see how much I can get fixed on Monday. I'm in the middle of separating the "data files" from the "program files" and adding options to the installer so that you can put your mud sessions into My Documents/My Games/Muds. And this had become a bit more complicated than I originally thought.

But yes, there are several pretty critical bugs that need to be fixed quickly. The bug that causes your settings to all be enabled is actually related to the bug where the regex option is cleared. In fact, it looks like that all options of imported settings might be getting set to their defaults, which is pretty bad.

As much as you're getting frustrated by more and more bug reports, the reason we keep finding things is that the program is becoming more and more stable which means we can delve deeper and deeper into playing with it.

The application is becoming more stable and useful, the only problem is that bugs which have been in it from the 1.00 release that haven't been caught are now being found, because we can get deep enough to find them.

You're doing a good job, just keep up the good work.
