[2.18] 100% CPU hang when receiving long descriptions |
From the script debugger. For some reason CMUD hangs for 15 seconds at 100% CPU halfway through receiving the description.
in the debugger it seems as though the desc is repeated. At the point where the first part ends (fresh morning dew circulate here throughout ) that's where it hangs, then when it resumes you see the rest.

0.0078 | a Elysium ]You are standing in what seems to be the middle of the Enchanted Forest. Here, season has lost her hold, as violet lilacs and crimson red roses line the edge of the Forest. Carpetting the Forest floor are pure white daisies and bright warm jonquils. Around you stand seven enormous stones arranged in a circle, encompassing the base of the Great White Oak. Mystical runes have been engraved in these stones, and they continue to pulsate with an eerie blue glow. Quietly, they sing of the Forest's tales and legends. They sing of the Forest's Guardians; The ones that have been, the ones that are and the ones that will be. Between the formation of stones and the Oak, lies a mixture of pebbles and moss, velvety to the touch. Looking to the base of the oak, a small but sturdy set of stairs, made of rope and planks grab your attention. They lead all the way from the ground up to what looks like a large tree hut. The Great White Oak itself is enormous in size. It spans 5 armwidths in diameter, and goes as high as the eye can see. It's bark is white in color, and its leaves healthy and large, lined with a silver color. From high above in the trees the singing of birds can be heard. Similarily, a hundred or so rope bridges span the above limbs, forming an indestructable canopy of lush green and golden tan; pierced only by the occasional ray of sunlight. A constant breeze, smelling of ocean and fresh morning dew circulate here throughout

To the sorth of the Oak, is a small waterfall that gently trickles into the ever dry and thirsty ground. There is no pool around the waterfall however, as it goes down through the ground, into an underground river. The source of the waterfall seems to come from the sky itself. In every other direction are thick overgrowths, enclosing the Great White Oak in seclusion to the rest of the world. You can also 'hug oak'

This used to happen in zMUD too and I never tracked down why. |

Try turning on the Raw MUD input option in the debugger to see exactly what the MUD is sending to CMUD that might be causing this.

I didn't get the cpu hang this time (but then I'm also on a much faster computer now) with 2.20, but the raw output with ANSI codes was this.

So are you saying that this seems to be fixed in v2.20?

Seems to be, but I don't play the mud anymore and chucked the old pkg file, so might have been some other settings that were causing the hang. Anyway, if I come across it again I'll post a new topic ;)
