Requesting new product keys? |
Ok, I bought zmud some time ago and have gone through several computers, new harddrives... Now, I just got back my computer from repair for faulty harddrive (again), and I try to request a new key - and am told that I have no more key left to request. Has it always been that there was a limit like this? And am I now going to have to go through mailing support every time I get a new computer/harddrive in future? Is very frustrating, since I used last code on old computer that I don't/can't use and there is no "You can request key <X> more times." notice that I recall seeing. Am I missing something?

As explained in the License FAQ you can only retrieve your key once a month in the new system. If you are changing computers more often than this, then you need to contact us for special attention.
Also, be sure you are talking about the latest 7.21 version and are not talking about something with the old eLicense system that we no longer use. Whenever you post a question to the forums, you should always mention what version of zMUD you are talking about. |

I would also suggest posting any of zuggs other products you are using in the future as well. I know it sounds trivial but i had a severe zmapper/zmud conflict a while back that negated my ability to even license my product until i uninstalled zmapper altogether. then i had no problem :)
I find the 7 day thing exaspirating as i have paid and used for a long time. However i also professionally beta test and upgrade my software/hardware monthly and often am completely wiping my pcs or reloading from a severe crash. Entirely too much programming on one machine :) However i understand the reason its there and i can honestly say Zugg is 98% helpful when you have a problem. Hey we are all entitled to the 2% :) |

Thanks for the info - I did request a license at the beginning of April when this comp died and I had to use the other one. I followed the instructions that I got when it told me I was out of requests and emailed support@zuggsoft.com. I tried that code, but the 7 day thing got me - if only this comp came back from repair just a little sooner. I guess I just need to wait for an answer to that email. (Hope it comes soon...) Thanks again.
