Ping and Ctrl + Q |
Two quick questions in one:
First of all , I was wondering if there is a way i can ping the mud i am on using a typed command, instead of going into the edit character menu.
Second Question, is I was wondering what exactly does ctrl + q do. I realize its a measure of how fast something is happening, but my question is what is it measuring, and what time unit is that response that appears on the status bar.
Thanks , Thats all.

CTRL-Q is the becnhmark test. It tells you exactly how fast ZMud is processing a large amount of text that's supposed to represent a typical volume from any game. There's a more detailed discussion about it somewhere on the boards, unless perhaps I'm thinking of something from the old Snitz box that maybe didn't make it to wolfpaw.
As for the time unit, I think it's milliseconds. |
