Automapper - mapping direction caused by pushing |
Hello,
I am having problems getting the automapper to correctly map an elevator which can be used by using the MUD's push command to go up or down. It work by interacting with the button object located in the room. It is not listed with the regular exits. Tried the commandline MapDir command >push up>u but nothing happened. Normally, I would just use a room walk-in script to Teleport to the room but the elevator can move up or down depending on which button is pushed. Any help is appreciated. |

You can create exits manually and then change the command that's associated with that exit in the room's properties menu. Just type it in the "other com" box and you're good.

Thanks. That helped somewhat. It works fine in offline mode but when I'm actually connected to the MUD it ceases to respond. Offline I see that it adds push up or push down as exits in the room desc but online this does not happen. Here is the text that is sent when I attempt the elevator.
---------------------------------------
Counterweight Elevator, First Floor
You are on the first floor of the asylum. The engineers designed the
elevator to be operating using a complex set of counterweights to lift the
platform up and down. The walls and floor of the platform are made of
smooth stone, in case any of the patients travelling up and down decide to
make a mess.
Exits: east
A large lead button with an "up" arrow is embedded into the wall.
The button to go up closes the door.
[344 hp 260 mp 29259 xp 2405 gp] push up
There is no exit, but you push it around anyways.
The button pulls itself in all the way. The elevator shakes and
slightly pitches as old, large, iron chains jerk over pulleys that
have not been oiled in several lifetimes. The noise is almost
deafening and fortunately comes to a stop as you reach the second
floor. The button resets itself back to a pushable position.
---------------------------------------------
It is sending the push up instead of up when I use the numpad which is great. It just won't follow along on the map. |
