Requesting a bit of help |
Folks,
I have been a very happy user of Z-mud for over 4 years, this time around, but have run into a problem. 3 days ago, I finished my morning play on the mud, and like I normally do, put z-mud into off-line status.
When I return to play the evening part of my gaming, I can log into my mud, and receive the 'what is your char's name' input line, and then got disconnected. This happens each and every time I have tried logging in with z-mud.
I can connect thru the website telnet connect that this mud maintains, but I am looking to be able to connect thru z-mud again.
I have un-licenced, reinstalled and re-licenced z-mud, also I run behind a zonealarm firewall with z-mud set to pass thru.
what other info or data do I need to supply to enable some suggestions?
A mudder going thru limited access withdrawal,
Carlin |

i think this is happening because zmud triggers on what is your characters name and enters a blank line (because it doesnt know :P) try editing the muds data and adding in a character :P

Kiasyn,
Thanks for the tip, I tried an empty line, as well as the names of all my chars on that mud, still getting disconnected after the 'what is your char's name' text line from the mud. Also I have looked thru all the config settings I could find to see if I had something changed, but did not see anything wrong.
Any other info I can supply to help solve this problem? |

Also try unticking the 'Automatically use this character name and password to log in' box in the character tab of the mud settings...

Ok, I do not know what the problem was, but it looks like an unlicence,
uninstall, complet delete of the Z-mud dir, and then re-intalling and relicencing worked.
Now all I have to do is rebuild 30 multistate menus.
Thanks for all the suggestions and the help. |
