Help me please. Error.... |
When I try to connect to Zmud I get an error.
The initial screen pops up with connection wizard, getting started, etc, but when I put in my Mud's address and port, then click connect I get an error: Caused by WSASRV in CDLSP.DL
THEN, if I exit Zmud and restart the program, then hit the Most Recent button, I 'connect' to a black screen, and down int he bottom left hand corner of the window it says: 'zSock error 2:10022'
I've deleted Zmud and reinstalled twice now, to no avail. Nothing is helping. I was on the verge of switching clients, but I soon found that anything else is for failures and idiots. Zmud is the key.
Anyone? Please, when you answer keep in mind that I am all but computer illiterate, so you may have to give me pretty detailed instructions on how to fix the problem...
I would sell my soul to mud, atm.
Thanks in advance. Hope you guys can help me. |

What you describe sounds like a driver problem. If you are using cable connection (ie RoadRunner) search for updated drivers for your ethernet card (NIC). If you are using a dial up system check for updated drivers with your service provider.
Without more specific system information I can not give you any more specific of an answer. |

I'm on dial-up, but I'm confused. If it was a driver problem, wouldn't it have always given me trouble? I used Zmud successfully for near four years without a hitch. I am using the same computer and IP that I always have...
I got to thinking, though, I DID run a pop-up destroyer shortly before my problem. Could this have caused it?
I'm running Windows ME and the free version of Zmud, if that helps at all... |

I'm guessing you typed a copy of the error (?).
A Google search returned hits for:
CsLsp.dll -- a McAffee file
WSASRV -- WSASRV.EXE (Windows Sockets Asynchronous Request Server)
sock 10022 -- Winsock error: "Invalid argument. Some invalid argument was supplied."
I'm no computer wiz myself, but I did find a forum where someone on Windows XP had a similar problem. One reply was:

Did this happen after running a "scan and removal" from either Spybot or Adaware? If so, did you try to go into it or them and restore the backups? In effect, reversing or putting back the information and files it fixed or deleted. |
You mentioned you had ran a popup destroyer. I hope you made a backup first. I'd check the software's web site for info on restoring damaged files. |
