Zmuds mapper and manual room creation |
hmm :P
first question.
why was it made so that you can't use the keyboard itself(insert key) to create rooms any more? this click room button, place method is tedious when you're pondering and repondering a 600 room zone....
second question. Using zmud 7.05. trying to create a map manually.
I place one room, and then place the 2nd next to it, yet no exit is created between the two despite the fact that I've got
view->map properties->interface->auto connect->not diagonals marked.
.... ....
While I like the new mapper... I think I might have to keep an old copy of zmud on a back-burner just for create the maps because this is tedious at best. I even tried the Zmapper and that wasn't much smoother.
any thoughts on how to get the autoconnecting between rooms working?

First Answer: I don't know about using the insert key, but if you're in creation mode, go to Zone, and select Keyboard Creation, and you should be set to use the keypad to create your map.
Second Asnwer: the autoconnect feature is for when you're creating the map with the keypad. See, if you have a room with an untested link to the west, then you walk through the room to the west from another direction, and the mapper sees an untested link to the east, then it will connect the two rooms automatically. If you're dropping rooms as you described, then those untested links aren't going to be there for the mapper to notice they should connect. |
