Hi,

I want to learn as much as i can to make some scripts run for video games, but i do not know where the heck to start.

Can someone point me to the right direction? please let the direction be as simple as possible.

another question, i am using only the trial version.

i am not thinkin about purchasing the software until i see it actually works. Will i be able to program a script for lineage using trial version. (www.lineage.com)

Which piece of software are you using the trial of? I assume zExplorer, though I just thought I'd clear that up, because most people in this forum will make the assumption you're talking about zMUD, which would in no way interact with Lineage or any other MMORPG.

Might want to check out the zExplorer forum.

I think you are a bit confused about the software of ZuggSoft. zMUD is a MUD client. In essence, it acts like a telnet client, but with many many more feautures. With zMUD, you can connect to MUD's, which are text-based games. In MUD's everything is communicated to you by text and you send tetx back to tell the MUD what action you want to take. zMUD, among many other things, allows you to examine the text sent by the MUD and take action depending on what was sent. Thus, you can create scripts that respond to different text messages.

Now, games like Lineage, which are graphical have their own propietary client to access the content. Since the content is not in any standard format, it can only be access by the client specifically designed by the game makers to access it. Thus, zExplorer (succesor to AC Explorer that works on other MMORPG's), is a companion program rather than a substitue client.

zExplorer cannot be scripted. zExplorer displays a map of some MMORPG with various locations marked in it, and useful information about each location. It also provides feautures like finding the shortes path between two points. zExplorer helps you to explore and navigate the world of a MMORPG, but you still need to use the client for that specific MMORPG.

Of course, in order for zExplorer to be able to present you all this information, it must already exist somewhere. Right now, there are no maps for Lineage (at least hosted in ZuggSoft). So a map would first have to be created and then people can start adding locations to it. The map can be created with zMapper, and then a server is needed to host the map database by using the free php scripts provided in this site.
