Perl Regular Expressions

Do I need to change my current triggers to the Perl by using the Convert button to make them faster? Or does it do it automatically? If it does automatically then what is the advantage of doing a convert?

It is done automatically. The convert is there to help people like me that are new to regular expressions to get a good starting point when we want to do something that zMud's pattern matching syntax has never done. Like using a list within a list, which I gave up on doing anyway and just went with multiple triggers.
