auto login trouble with ver. 7.01 (part 2)

ok. i was able to get the autolog to _almost_ work.

i turned on echo command and echo trigger so i could see what was happening. when i log into the mud, and it displays the "what name do you use" line, the trigger fires off and it inserts the correct #CH value, but it just stops dead there. it doesn't really send it, it seems. if i then type in the character name and hit enter, THEN it successfully enters the password and completes the process. i troubleshooted this for over an hour last night with a zmud-knowledgeable friend, but no luck. i even reset things and let the automatic window popup and setup my autolog. no luck there either.

i verified that my character name and password are correct in the char. select menu. basically, i crossed the t's and dotted the i's.

so as a last resort, the mud i am trying to connect to with autolog:

wot.envy.com 2121

if anyone can get on there and check it out, i'd appreciate it!

Check the trigger options. The default options include Newline enabled and Prompt disabled. For login triggers, this should usually be the other way around, Newline disabled and Prompt enabled.

Whichever way the trigger is now, if it's not working try the other way.

something that usually helps for me when this happens is to clear my character/password info for the connection. zMUD will detect the locations being empty and the autologin popup will reappear.

Clear the info at:
Chars -> edit ( particulair connection) -> character tab -> two fields, empty em.

Works for me,

Timbo
