right now I very much have to go through the numbers 1 at a time to find specific colors.

There's no need to go through the numbers. #CW accepts words. You can find a list under %color. The colors should be separated by commas, without spaces. They should normally be in the order: non-color attributes (if any),foreground color, background color.

#CW blue is blue
#CW red, blue is red foreground on blue background
#CW high, red, blue is bright-red foreground on blue background

The colors are: black, blue, green, cyan, red, magenta, brown, and gray. Yellow (bright brown) and white (bright gray) are also acceptable for foreground colors. The other attributes are: hi, bold, rev, blink, and under.

You can also use also use all the color names listed in the help for %colorlist; and of course specific hexadecimal RGB values. The usage of those is noted in the Help for #COLOR, #CW, %color, etc.
