Bear with me... databases? |
Heya!
I've worked for a while with basic triggers (chasing/killing PK triggers, some global awareness triggersets (threats and stuff) etc) and am trying to use zMUD the way Zugg intended - not just as a client, but as a great tool for mudding... so I see all these things about databases, etc. What are some common uses? I'm sure there's things for my MUD out there, just not sure what. The mud I play is TFC (The Final Challenge). Random equipment code, so an equipment database is outta the question pretty much. Just an idle curiosity and a hankering to try some new stuff, if I can find any use to put it to!
Thanks!

personally I have not yet used any of the databases in zmud. I'm kind of waiting for Zugg to convert them to real database file formats which may not happen.
there are many places where you could use it. For example, to store things like your skills, skill level, skill point, points to next level for each skill. Another example would be crafts, items you can make, brew, smith, ect. and thier ingredents/components needed. Many other possibilities, but as I mentioned, I don't even use this feature yet.
