have you checked your MDAC files? you need to have the latest versions of them which where NOT supplied by WINxp of any version.
they can be downloaded at Microsoft.

I had to uninstall zMUD quite a long time ago, and have just gotten around to reinstalling it - so I upgraded to the current 7.05a. I was having the LicCtrl issue, which I fixed via the FAQ, but now ...
